Peer Mentorship
Connecting childhood cancer survivors through meaningful relationships, shared experiences, and ongoing support. We believe that some of the most valuable guidance comes from someone who has walked a similar path. Through peer mentorship, we help create connections between survivors who understand the unique challenges and opportunities that come with life after cancer.
Why It Matters
Life after cancer can be filled with uncertainty. From returning to school and building friendships to navigating careers and personal growth, survivors often face challenges that others may not fully understand.
Peer mentorship provides a supportive environment where survivors can share experiences, offer encouragement, and learn from one another. These connections help build confidence, reduce feelings of isolation, and remind survivors that they are not alone in their journey.
The Gus Bomgardner Buddy Program
The Gus Bomgardner Buddy Program is our peer mentorship initiative designed to connect childhood cancer survivors through friendship, encouragement, and shared experiences.
Through community events, group activities, mentorship opportunities, and ongoing support, participants have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with others who understand the cancer journey firsthand.
As the program continues to grow, our goal is to create a strong community where survivors can support one another while navigating life through and beyond cancer.
In Loving Memory of Gus Bomgardner
The Gus Bomgardner Buddy Program is our peer mentorship initiative designed to connect childhood cancer survivors through friendship, encouragement, and shared experiences.

When the Tucker Haas Foundation was created, Gus was one of the individuals who inspired the vision behind helping survivors build meaningful connections and support systems. Through their shared experiences as childhood cancer survivors, Tucker saw firsthand the impact that friendship, encouragement, and simply having someone who understands your journey can make.
After Gus relapsed and later passed away, Tucker knew he wanted his legacy to remain a part of the foundation's mission.
Today, the Gus Bomgardner Buddy Program honors Gus's life by helping survivors build friendships, find encouragement, and create lasting connections with others who understand life through and beyond cancer.
His kindness, resilience, and friendship continue to inspire the work we do and the community we hope to build for survivors everywhere.

Meaningful connections can make a lasting impact on a survivor's journey.
Whether you are a childhood cancer survivor, sibling, parent, supporter, or community member, we invite you to be part of our growing community.
Through the Gus Bomgardner Buddy Program, we are working to create a network of support where survivors and families can build meaningful relationships, share experiences, and encourage one another through life's challenges and successes.
As the program continues to grow, we look forward to creating mentorship opportunities, fostering new friendships, and ensuring that no one impacted by childhood cancer has to navigate the journey alone.
